The countdown to Diwali has begun, which means the number of days you have to be festival ready is decreasing very fast! With a crazy work schedule and the crazier Diwali preparation rush, often we forget to book a slot at the salon for our own self and are more often than not turned down because they have no empty slots!
If you are someone who has a history of the same sort and this Diwali too it does not seem to be very different, we have the perfect guide for you to prep yourself at home itself.

So the basics of well being are in fact very simple, and if implemented every day it does have an effect on us that preps us from inside rather than the outside. So let us utilise this opportunity to treat ourselves the way we should be treated in reality every day!

1. Go on a fruit/vegetable salad diet:
There is nothing better than hogging on fruits and vegetables. They not only detoxify our systems but rekindles the glow our bad lifestyle usually takes away from us. So, avoid the oily and fried food up to the festival.

2. Avoid smoking and drinking:
We all know what effects these two activities have on our skin, so cut down on them these few days.

3. Get some shut-eye:
You may have done very well but in case you have an unhealthy sleeping habit, it’s high time to change that. You would want to avoid those fine lines around the eyes and look pale and unhealthy. With less sleep our body releases more cortisol a hormone, excess of which breaks down skin collagen which is responsible for holding the skin together. So make sure you get a good 7 to 8 hours of sleep to carry that glow around wherever you go in this festival of lights.

4. Get a haircut:
It’s time to get a trim just for the basic reason of how much that affects our facial structure, a good haircut will always make you look less scruffy. Try out that 2017 hairstyle you had been waiting to experiment with, just remember it’s all about looking neat and classy at the same time. Go for the golden haircut with a slightly longer top and a slightly short side, the ratio might vary you basically have to figure out how that suits your facial structure the best when you are at it and make the most of the different styles this Diwali.

5. Beard on:
If you are a man who loves to don a beard then make sure you have it properly trimmed so that your face looks neat. Most people especially women associate cleanliness with looking good which brings us to our next point “getting your facial hair game correct”, but till then do try out the latest looks. Stylise that goatee or go for that soul patch, the evergreen way of doing a thing is going cleanly shave.

6. TAKE CARE OF THE SECONDARY FACIAL HAIR:
Yes, you read that correctly. We are talking about the hair growing out of your ears and your nostrils. The best way to deal with this is to shave the hair on your ears carefully avoiding any cuts or bruises, and as for nose hair take a really slim sharp small scissor and gently trim those unkempt strands of hair sticking out spoiling your facial hair game. Most of the guys feel extremely embarrassed going for a threading session to keep their eyebrows in shape; it’s not a girly thing. Guys stop saying that to yourself. Trust me when I tell you, you definitely need to take care of those brows.

7. Face wash, the basic wash:
We all know this but still, tend to miss out on it, that is basic face washing after coming back from work. The pollution is not really helping your skin, and with Diwali cracker bursting it would not get any better. If anything the pollution level would only get elevated. So ensure to follow a proper cleaning and washing routine to keep the skin dirt free.

We know you know all of these already, but many times we forget the most basic things. So we are pleased to remind you that now is the perfect time
to treat yourself a little, along with the points mentioned maybe you can go for a spa too. It is Diwali after all, gift yourself some well-deserved pampering.
