Finding motivation to get up and push your body towards the gym can be difficult.  It takes superhuman effort to do that sometimes! We all need some kind of push from time to time, whether it is physically or mentally. The best way to push yourself towards your workout routine is through your pre-workout supplements. They give you an external push, stimulating you mentally and physically.

Now, if I had to broadly divide the items consumed which as pre-workout supplements, they would be:

1) Black Coffee
2) Pre-workout supplements

Black coffee:
This is as natural that you can get. Coffee is a solid stimulant and consuming it before your workouts can help you burn fat, increase focus, increase metabolism and give you the push that you need to work out. Caffeine is a diuretic; you end up a lot losing fluids, so keep your body hydrated.

Pre-workout Supplements:

In addition to the high level of caffeine, these supplements are added with a ton of other chemicals such as BCAAs, Creatine, Beta Alanine etc which end up doing much more than a cup of coffee can do.
Of course, they are amazing when you really are pushing for the performance in each and every workout. The pump, the focus and the muscle endurance increases, dramatically. But depending on these chemically manipulated supplements for a long time can take a toll on your liver and kidneys. Make sure you flush your body by keeping yourself hydrated during your workout.

Honestly, as per my experience with pre-workout supplements, they’re a tad bit too jazzy for me. They come on too strong for my body and I have had issues with my sleep after taking them, in case I workout in the night of course. The performance and the longevity of the workout enhanced dramatically but I am not a huge fan.

When it comes to pre-workout, black coffee takes the cup!

I personally suggest using coffee and then pre-workouts supplements only if it’s a dire necessity. Try pushing your body as much as you can through mental motivation and hopefully, you’ll find the strength in you
